I like my 85. I believe it's the earliest one known to this forum and I'm the original owner :D

Did that one have magnetic shoes, Andy? I remember you were offering it up sometime back.

I bought one in Jan of 85 from Jimmy D at Sam Ash.
Had magnetic shoes, a 19th fret dot, and a neck like a club!
It was so thick that it got thinner at the peg head!

Amazing....my 2005 4003 Monty was like that.

My 88 V63 is SUPER THIN thankfully.

Does your 88 v63 have the fat horns?
I'm toying with snagging the 87 on the bay,
but don't know how much the fat horns will bug me....

Yes, they are larger, but not bothersome at all. The sound is just KILLER and it is not bad in the weight department either..BUT I have an 81 4001 and the horns are just H U G E and quite heavy in comparison!

The neck on my 85 is super thin - typical of the 85 86 Shadows
