Hey All,
I know there have been many posts about strap locks...
I was suprised to find that the screws holding the strap buttons on my V63 were quite a bit larger then the wood screws that come with the Jim Dunlop strap locks. I am thinking that I will have to drill out the holes in the strap locks, buy two new screws of the same diameter and thread pitch as what goes through the Rick strap buttons and then turn down the screw heads so that they will fit into the Dunop Strap locks.
Any suggestions?
Cheers, Mike

Re: Strap Lock Question
That's one way to do it.
Here's another:

Good Luck!

Oh wait...(Edit)...You said Jim Dunlop. Oops. These are Schallers. I've used the Schallers for over 25 years. They work very well. But if you're using Dunlops, the option you mentioned is probably the only one.

Yes Philip, those are the same ones I posted a link to. Looks like RIC is charging $10.00 each now. I thought it used to be $3.00.

Re: Strap Lock Question
Phillip, your Dunlop procedure is the way to do it. I've done it 5 times now. I liked the Dunlop method better than the Shaller method. Makes it tougher to change on a Rick, but I like the positive lock.
Re: Strap Lock Question
I did it that way and it works perfectly. The strap buttons are very hard and driliing them out is slow going. This is how mine came out.JammyDodger wrote:Hey All,
