4 videos of live studio recording by RockFour

Post by gibsonlp »

RockFour an Israeli all-Rickenbacker band performing live on studio as part of ynet's live recording series
This is a realy jingle jungle band using mostly Rickenbacker instruments. A real joy for any Rickenbacker lover.

The introductions are in Hebrew, I translated them for you, as well as the single Hebrew song.

====================================================================
Young Believer
Marc, bassist: "Young believe is a song that was written during a rehearsal actually, an optimistic song, one that gives hope, a happy song, a call of joy"
Baruch, guitarist: "yes, yes"
Marc: "They agree"
Baruch: "An optimistic song, cool one, even the melody has a "let's have fun" feeling"

====================================================================
Goes Around
Marc: "Also an optimistic song"
Baruch: "Optimistic and sarcastic.
Goes around is talking about all those people who were sure that if they'll put all their money and life on something it will workout, and suddenly it all falls at once"

====================================================================
End of the way
Baruch: "End of the way is a song from "The man who saw it all", a song that was taken from this concept album, but in it's own core it touches death
It's not about someone or something specific, it's about someone who knows he is about to die, we were 25 or 26 years old (when we wrote it), it might have bothered us then. Not the actual death - but that second before you die."

Marc: "Now that we are older we are not worried about death anymore"
This is a hebrew song, translation is provided after the embedded video

End of the way lyrics:
End of the way, gazes of fear
switched with the sorrow that I knew of.

And I become silent, knowing that this time
It will be impossible to hide it.

Yes, I've been there in the after-world
Thoughts in a dream and I ask.
There is not a single answer, the time is short
Waiting for last supper.

In a different place, the wind will roll in the fields of the emotions we have lost
Can't go out, like in a turmoil, Cutting through the pain and going on.

Yes, I've been there...

====================================================================
Crush on Subtitles

Marc: "Crash on Subtitles - the text was written in detroit, in some night when I had an idea, I went out of bed and went to the hotel's lobby, sat until 5AM and wrote the text and showd it to Baruch, he said "Great" and the next day we went into the studio and recorded it."

Baruch: "Yup, Both the lyrics and the melody were written really fast"
So long and thanks for all the fish!

Gil: I am really enjoying these clips. RockFour are great performers. Their harmonies are terrific. I also suspect they have heard a few Beatles' tunes in their day. Thanks for your efforts in posting the videos and for your translation as well.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Some very cool songs, Gil. I particularly like the v64's rock tone on 'Subtitles'. :)
