grover box back tuners - wanna trade a wavy for a flat?
This is my problem - i have 3 flat and one wavy
anyone have the opposite problem?
in short, I'd like to trade the Wavy Grover box-back tuner for a Flat Grover box-back tuner
My wavy tuner is in excellent condition and I would like the flat tuner to function the same - i need one for the bass (E) side of the neck.
Thanks!

They are a tough one to find Steven. Not too many of them around, however there is a man called Pascoe who may be able to help...

Being that the flat ones are much rarer, you might not get an even trade....
The flat ones are very weak at the point where the paddle joins the shaft.
They bend and the chrome flakes away...

it doesn't necessarily have to be an even trade - I can do +$ if necessary (if i even find one) - I'd like to have a complete correct set on my bass.chefothefuture wrote:Being that the flat ones are much rarer, you might not get an even trade....

What is it that you have there, Steven? What I can see looks interesting.
I have a wavy set on my '71 and it probably should have the flats.
(Nevermind, I just saw your other thread.)

I guess they are REALLY difficult to find. I've seen more than a few mismatched sets so I thought maybe it would be easier to trade.

Very few basses made from '69 thru '71, hence the low volume...

I've seen 71's with both.
The flat is MUCH weaker and perhaps due to
that fact, many were replaced with wavys through
warranty.
