Have you named your guitar ?

Post by VRICKY63 »

My wife has a beautiful Flamey FG660/12 . She named it " Bing " because it vibrates for so long........ In fact all of her instruments have names ....Violins - Feebee and Gertrude . Mandolin,banjo,Gretsch,....She does call her Les Paul a Les Paul . She named my 64 P bass " Thumper " . I named my Hofner Club "Little Jimmy" Hofner (jimmy hoffa). My 4001V63 is " The Beast " just because it sounds so HUGE !
It's too early in the morning to talk about our relationship !

I suppose the only time I've given any of my guitars names might come during a fit of re-stringing and tuning. However, none of those names can be used on the forum.

I named my guitar yeah.

It was Rosie for a while, when I was on an AC/DC trip. I decided to call it Rosie until I played "Whole Lotta Rosie" live for the first time. I was pretty new at guitar at the time, so it took a while. After losing the name Rosie, she got the name "Isabelle" (as long as you say it in french!) And I took i ta step further to make sure no one gets it wrong!

Nice one, Don.

I stink at naming stuff- it just does not come to me easily. My wife named a couple of my guitars. The 360/12 I just got back after a 5 year separation is named Rosie.

I think if I were to give a name to a guitar, something memorable, something worth commemorating in connection with the instrument would have to happen. And I haven't a clue as to what sort of example I can give.

I have never named any of my geets.

But my Aunt named my Uncle's old Les Paul The Tramp, because he has spent more time with it than with her!

And my other Uncle named his old Fender bass clone Betsy,i have no idea why though!
