I'm looking for a stand much like what Alex Lifeson used in Rush to hold his acoustic guitar at playing height. He used it mostly for acoustic intros and then stepped away from it to play the electric. The one he used was called an Omega Stand, and I think he developed it.
Does anyone know of a company who makes such a thing commercially?
Thanks!
Omega stand?

Yes Steve, it's called a Gracie Stand. My spelling might be wrong but your local music store should be able to order it for you. They come in electric or acoustic versions and in two quality levels, about $175 for the cheap one and $250 for the top model.

Re: Omega stand?
This Rickenbacker came with it because it was too heavy to play on a strap:
