RIC 4001/3 production statistics.

Post by oler »

Hi.
I'm sure this has been up before, but here you go: What's the annual production numbers for 4001/3s over the years since the 4001 was introduced in '61? Would be interesting to see some statistics...
Is it available somewhere?

Cheers.

Rickenbacker doesn't make that kind of information available to the general public.

The Smith book has info regarding the early years to 68, but most agree this is not totally accurate.

I'm accumulating information on a forthcoming book on Rick basses, and I have received no information at all from RIC on production numbers. I'm sure John Hall does not want that information to be available, and even if he did, it would be difficult to gather that info (especially back into preceding decades) for release. The folks at the factory have much better things to do.
