Ditto that. I have a pair of the Cuban-heeled, ultra-pointy Winkle Pickers, in black leather.

I'm actually wearing them in my Avatar photo, but they're outside of the photo frame.

In the 80s there was a big resurgence of people wearing Beatle Boots and Chelsea boots, to the extent that the metal rockers the Scorpions were even all wearing them in one of their music videos. There were a bunch of Hollywood and L.A. stores, as well as O.C. stores that sold them. In the early and mid 80s, pointy toed shoes in general were quite popular. The boots disappeared from shelves as the 90s approached. Pointy shoes in general had lost popularity by then, though they've enjoyed a resurgence in popularity even in dress shoes over the past 3-4 years or so.

There was a big 60s garage scene in L.A. during the 80s. everyone was wearing some form of Beatle boots, and all the girls were wearing go go boots, of course.

During the 80s, Beatle boots were available in a variety of colors and styles from places like "Let It Rock", "Poseur", "The Electric Chair", "Na Na's", among others. Our lead singer Meatball even had a green pair of Beatle boots. I had a pair of red ones at one point, but mostly it was black, or suede black. The last pair I had before the Winkle Pickers was a pair of low-heeled suede Chelsea boots that I kept forever before giving them to someone. When I wa in the UK in `03 I could not find them anywhere. It wasn't until I did an online search that I found the "Beatwear" site and ordered a pair of winkle pickers.

I have two pairs. I rarely wear them though, as people look at you very strangely in Kentucky. I've also got a Shea Stadium jacket from Beatwear. I've met the guys that run that shop...really nice guys and their products are top of the line.

I'd like to get a pair myself, someday. Only thing I don't like about them is that centerseam in the upper. So instead, I think I'll stick with these:

Yeah, those are basically what I have. They're not bad. I just got the heels on mine fixed so that they don't make a huge CLONK when I walk on hard floors.

The Winkle Picker and High Point models do not have the center seam, so you could get those. The suede Chelsea boots I used to have also lacked the center seam, but the Beatwear Chelseas have the center seam.

I would have a pair but I have WIDE FEET.

The problem is that if they did make a Beatle Boots for wide feet they would cease to be Beatle Boots. Every time I see a picture of Beatle Boots I feel a slight twinge of pain in the back of my brain as in "Yea, they look cool, but how in the word does anyone actually walk around in those things?"
