Top notch Brian I enjoyed Focus Cheers
Re: Your favorite music vid from Youtube?
A personal favourite. Well, it's in Russian in fact, cause it's a Russian "beat group". Just love this song and these guys!
Edit: and the same guys quite a few years later. Watch what lead singer is playing.

Sheena, those were great! What is the first song about? Love the guy in orange and his jumping.

Tom Hanks wrote that song. It is a great tune.jimk wrote:Got that 1964 sound nailed.

Brian, do you have any albums by The Music Machine. If you do, could you put them up on Mediafire?brianeharmonjr wrote: First, The Music Machine "Talk Talk". Killer 60's garage-rock.

The first one was about going down by the river side and all the fun that goes with it. The "guy in orange" is one of the best local comedians/showmans, btw (in fact, all the four guys from the band are actors and the band was to some extent a theatrical action, like, "let's play a Merseybeat-style band"). And he's also musical. What else does one need?johnallg wrote:Sheena, those were great! What is the first song about? Love the guy in orange and his jumping.

Wes, I do have some Music Machine. An older friend of mine used to own a record store and he's got an incredible amount of vinyl, tapes, and CDs. I asked him if he had any Music Machine and he made me a compilation with something like 30 songs and half a dozen other CDs full of similar stuff. I don't currently have Mediafire, but I'll see if I can get some on there for you. The Music Machine has a lot of cool songs, but "Talk Talk" is still my favorite, though it may be because of the visual.1965 wrote:Brian, do you have any albums by The Music Machine. Thanks for the explanation. "all the four guys from the band are actors and the band was to some extent a theatrical action" - ahh like the Monkees.sowhat wrote:The first one was about going down by the river side and all the fun that goes with it. Thanks for the vid Sheena. Yes indeed, Hugh Laurie has been around and done a lot before becoming a hit on US TV - particularly on the UK TV Shows "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" (with Stephen Fry), "Black Adder", and "Jeeves and Wooster" (again with Stephen Fry), in which he played PG Wodehouse's upper-class-twit-with-heart-of-gold to perfection. He's done numerous movies (including the cringe-worthy but commercially successful "101 Dalmations" and "Stuart Little") and written a successful satirical novel, "The Gun Seller". He is a product of the Cambridge footlights - like a very great number of successful UK comedians and actors. He was also a top-class oarsman - I'm not sure if he's still "in training", as the English say. All in all, he's a bit of a renaissance man.sowhat wrote:(banging her head against the table) Yes, yes, yes (daamn). Not that young, though, that's a more or less recent clip. He did lots of that kind of stuff back in late 80s and 90s.j_gary wrote:Sheena, is that a young Dr. House?

Cool, Evan. I mean, it's cool to see somebody else knows that Laurie is not only a tough character, drug addicted doctor. J & W series were, and still are, very popular here in Russia, and that's where i spotted him (well, both of them, actually), and after i saw and heard their version of "Hey Jude", i was hooked. They're really funny. Well, at least, i think so. And the fact that Laurie can play a few musical instruments adds quite a few points.
Funny that, even though my daughter is like in love with the guy, she says she'll never watch Stuart Little. Because "that ugly mouse is too unrealistic". And i'm actually with her on that one. The mouse kills the show, and i doubt even Laurie can save it.
Back to music, another favourite (how could i forget about it?!):
