Indentification Assistance Required

Post by gellkeller »

Does anybody know what model this is? I was thinking 1997 but I know that they came with dot markers. Apparently,it is from 1990.

I'm not 100% sure of the designation, but I want to say that it's a 360v64SPC. That's my take on it from the features and the look of it. Very nice looking figure on the wood too.

I wish it was mine but unfortunately it has already sold. It was for sale in Japan.

Yeah, that is one SUPER FRESH looking 1997, for sure. (Drop dead gorgeous..)

It's basically a really deluxe version of the 1997, or (360v64 w/f hole). I know they did a short run of 1993 reissues (12 string) in the 90's, that are identical to this- super flamed top, gold pickguards, neck/body binding, and triangle inlays. It's likely from that series.

It must be nice in the Japanese market- they seem to get the best of everything! I live 20 minutes from the Ric factory, and even us Californians couldn't even get Rics that nice!

Cheers,

It looks like it could be one of the batch that Norm Harris had made up some time ago.....

Is this V taken from a small number of 360's where one is pictured on Bjorn's site? The one shown there though is a 12 string, and it also says it's believed only three of these were made with f-holes. It appears the position of the f-holes are different though.

I believe it is from the "Norms" batch made about 1994. There is more information about these models here:

The problem with oven knobs is that there isn't a small one made for the fifth knob.

That's from the '94 batch. Suhwwweeet. I know a guy who has a mapleglo 12-string from that batch.

Here's my 381V69 with a solution; handmade small "top hat" knob, in dark brown to match:
