Re: New 360JG
I would have to agree. I have encountered a perilous situation, however, with the new pick-up ... I was jamming so hard, sawing away at chords, that the little E string got stuck underneath the pole piece on the neck pick-up. I'll have to watch that one

If I imagine that guitar with 12 strings, and finished in fireglo, I hope that's what my guitar will look like. Beautiful, simply beautiful (cue Tom Petty song here...)steverok wrote:Thanks mate ! I couldn't load this one in, but here is the link to another photo :

It will jimk, it will be beautiful, rest assured.
Of all the new features, I must say the headstock is my favorite, because the old one looks a little big in comparison. Actually, I think the old headstock works well with MG and FG, since there are two wood colors interspersed, making it looks more in proportion, but in a solid color like JG, it looks a little too big and Gumby-like. I would rank the adjustable hi-gains as a tie for the #1 improvement, but I need to figure out how to stop the little E from getting caught under the pole piece while rocking. I am hoping that thicker strings will fix this issue for me. The new inlays are beautiful, but do take some getting used to, because I like the old kind just fine. I consider them a very fine improvement, but less important to me than the other two. This is the new aesthetic ...

Toasters always look great, but these are the new 360s man !1965 wrote:Wow you really made out nicely. Small 'stock and full inlays, doesn't get any better than that. Well, unless you could get some toasters in there as well
What material is this new inlay? Has anyone said what it is? It seems like mother of pearl, but maybe not quite that sparkly. It definitely gives the guitar a different vibe, no longer quite the "dark angel", like the previous version, but more of a decked-out look, dressed to kill.
So what do we now call the old 360 JetGlos with the Gumby paddle headstock, "classic 360 JetGlo"? And the 2007 model with tapered headstock and perloid inlays, "semi-classic 360 JetGlo"?

Re: New 360JG
So, I was wondering, anyone know if this is a change across the board on 360's? I've heard tell of an MG 360 with full-width inlays. Specifically, I'm wondering if the rest of the COY 360's will also have this feature. A 360 AFG with full width inlays would be pretty sweet, in my head anyway.
Re: New 360JG
Very Pretty. Two questions for the board.
1. What do the adjustible pole pieces do for you? I'm guessing volume and balance?
2. What do I do with my 90's (now referred to as Gumby) JetGlo 360 with Toasters? Seriously, I love the guitar and the only change I was going to make was go to full width inlays when I finally saved up the money... Now, should I not do that and keep it original? I had previously decided it was too common a guitar to get caught up with originality and simply resolved to make it my own...
Before you reply, I know, I am thinking too much about this... And, no, I don't have enough money to place an order for the new model. It is quite nice, though.

So Steve, have you come up with a name for your new guitar yet? How about "Vixen?" Or better yet... "Star!"steverok wrote: It definitely gives the guitar a different vibe, no longer quite the "dark angel", like the previous version, but more of a decked-out look, dressed to kill.

Re: New 360JG
1) The adjustable pole pieces allow me to lower the volume of G and B, which always seem too loud, and increase the volume of the little E, thereby dialing in optimum jangle !jcreasy wrote:Very Pretty. Two questions for the board.

2) Don't touch your 360, unless you want to try these new pickups. Trust me, one day, people will say they miss the "classic 360 JG", like Peter Buck's, and they'll be pressured to go back to Gumby w/ pearloid inlays. We RIC fanatics are insatiable.
Re: New 360JG
Yes Melissa, it's called "Black Diamond", like the Kiss song. The new inlays remind me of jewelry. But they are still not as snazzy as the crushed pearl inlays on your 365. I just can't top any of your Rics !!melibreits wrote:So Steve, have you come up with a name for your new guitar yet? How about "Vixen?" Or better yet... Re: New 360JG
Hi Steve now that you've had your ric for a couple of weeks hows about a couple of nice close up shots of those inlays for the jealous members here
Re: New 360JG
I had this happen to me when I purchased my 330 with the new hi-gains. I just lowered the pickup a little bit until this wasn't happening anymore. This seemed to work just fine and I didn't have to readjust any of the polepieces.steverok wrote:I would have to agree. I have encountered a perilous situation, however, with the new pick-up ... These new Hi-Gains are probably one of my top 5 pickups of all time now. They sound simply great. There is no other way to put it.

Yeah, but how will the new, super-white inlays look aged?brianeharmonjr wrote:So, I was wondering, anyone know if this is a change across the board on 360's? Re: New 360JG
Less white I would imagine. Those crushed pearl inlays from the 60s all still look awesome. I personally think the new inlays are sharp, but they could stand to yellow or fade a little. They stand out quite a bit.
