This is really a great color with the gold guards and TRC - and with charactered wood. Mr. Hall has a winner with this one. Should turn into a classic Ric color. (I'm sure that's been said many many times before)
These are really nice in MB. Mine is MG with very nice figure in the maple. What I find interesting is a photo in Richard Smith's Rickenbacker book of a Combo 400 on page 98 that has a solid brown finish called Montezuma Brown.
I gotta agree with the original thread title. I really like the Montezuma Brown finish a lot... It almost looks like fireglo in the picture Rich posted, but most other pics I've seen show it as an autumnglo or brown--gold burst. Kinda makes me wonder why it took them so long! Not that they were making Ricks as fast as they could sell them anyway! Now if I could just get John Hall to refinish my 4001v63 in it!!!
