Montezuma Brown - the BEST IMHO

Post by richs »

I thought I'd share this picture of my newly aquired 660/12 MB. I'm so in love with her...

This is really a great color with the gold guards and TRC - and with charactered wood. Mr. Hall has a winner with this one. Should turn into a classic Ric color. (I'm sure that's been said many many times before)

These are really nice in MB. Mine is MG with very nice figure in the maple. What I find interesting is a photo in Richard Smith's Rickenbacker book of a Combo 400 on page 98 that has a solid brown finish called Montezuma Brown. Image

That flamed top goes well with the Monty!

Excellent.
Buy it before someone else does

Seems to me that the 660 is one of the best selling RICs, everybody has one (I don't). It looks great in any color.

I gotta agree with the original thread title. I really like the Montezuma Brown finish a lot... It almost looks like fireglo in the picture Rich posted, but most other pics I've seen show it as an autumnglo or brown--gold burst. Kinda makes me wonder why it took them so long! Not that they were making Ricks as fast as they could sell them anyway! Now if I could just get John Hall to refinish my 4001v63 in it!!!
