"The Kids Are Alright"

Post by wmthor »

I'm watching this right now on the IFC network and would recommend this for any of "The Who" fans. It includes clip of Keith Moon's last performance.

I have an old tape of it, and I agree that it's a definite "must see" for Who fans. I think that it was recently digitally remastered on DVD, so I'm keeping an eye out for a copy.

I have it on DVD... Simply amazing. Way better than the old VHS. The songs are in the correct tempo. They even have a special feature of just Entwisle at the last performance, its called the "Ox Cam". Highly, highly recommended...

I have the DVD also...To me,one of the all time greatest bands...IMO,JAE was one of, if not the, most incredible bassists ever....I have this great picture of him in the 60's on my wall playing a 4001s...

"I have on my wall this great..."

But the original way is more entertaining.

Gary Clauson , is the finish on that Townshend a dark cherry around the edge or is it just the lighting??

I had a 66 Rick 360 12 that looked just like that.

Tom, my digital camera doesn't render reds well - I'll have to get the guitar out and compare the picture to the real thing in order to tell you whether it's dark cherry around the edge. I'll post an update later today.

Tom, I checked the 1997PT, and it's a dark, somewhat-brownish red at the edges. The color seems off-hand to be similar to Burgundy, but with a bit of brown. When I get a chance, I'll take a picture of it next to my 1977 4000FL BG for comparison.
