Delusions Of Unity

Post by walker »

This tune features my '79 4001V63 played through a wah pedal. It's role in this song is more of rhythm guitar than an actual bassline, which is played on the synth.

'Delusions Of Unity' is a tune that I cut from my 2nd CD 'Joybomb' due to the time constraint. Two songs had to go, and I felt that this was not one of my strongest offerings, yet possibly one of the more unique.

Thanks, Tom. If it were released as a "single," I guess it would make sense to put the other song I had to cut along with it on the other side. (Hey kids! Remember when songs had "sides?")

'Feed The Mind' is the 2nd song I had to cut from the 'JOYBOMB' album. Once again, not one of the strongest tunes in my opinion, although interesting on it's own merit in some ways. Weak point: I had just started using drum machines, so the programming on this song is a little stiff. But I was having fun with the sampling gear, and in this tune I borrowed from '2112' - Rush, 'When The Levy Breaks' - Led Zeppelin, and 'Close To The Edge' - Yes. The Yes sample is hard to pick out since I just used it for the bird sounds in the intro.

I used the '79 4001V63 again, this time in standard tuning. LOTS of synths in this song, so fairly warned be thee, says I.

Oh... the wah used on 'Delusions Of Unity' was a Jim Dunlop, I believe.
