Call Me Number One - only

Post by royclough »

Guilty of plagiarism to some degree here as I borrowed the idea from Brian's site and the topic title from a old Tremeloes hit.

Brian started a topic called One it Wonders but as primarily my little bit of the forum only is concerned with 60's and 50's, let's think about those acts who had one number one and then nothing.

By definition of hit I mean Top 40 as some acts had a number 1 then a number 50 then nothing.

Example Marcels had Number 1 with Blue Moon in UK then made number 46 briefly with follow up, without checking who remembers the follow up.

So essentially made number 1 but never made Top 40 again

I can remember a lot from UK but not US.

Can anyone recall an act that had a number 1 in US and UK but nothing else.

Here's someone still performing today 48 years on, yet this was only hit albeit a number 1,he ever had In UK, so it gave him a living.
