The pic above was the March 73 I just bought. So now in my 73 collection I have two basses with wide sparkle inlays, two basses with acrylic wide inlays, and three basses with small inlays, all of them have checkered binding. Definitely a time when things were changing at RIC and they were fine tuning the formula for the 4001.

That's some truth that, I have to believe, Mr. Hall hates.

I wonder how many emails they have gotten over the years with "why didn't I get the new neck shape, headstock shape, full width inlays, adjustable pole pieces, walnut head wings, etc..."
