-1970s Telecaster Custom in natural finish with a black pickguard and a maple neck/fretboard: I was a bass player when I bought it and I thought maybe I could learn a few chords on the thing or something, besides, the price was right. Someone had added a Seymour Duncan hot rails bridge pickup to it, as well as a couple of mini toggle switches that didn't appear to do a thing. I thought maybe they were for active electronics, but there was no battery hookup anywhere under the pickguard, et cetera. Not a horrible guitar by any means, but it was nowhere near as cool as the brand new Rick 360 WB I bought to replace it, which was the guitar I actually learned on and still own.
-Vox solid body teardrop bass: Unlike the ultra cool Wyman bass, the solid body bass had a neck as thick and wide as a tree trunk, which made playing the thing an almost painful exercise, especially as my regular bass was a `79 JG Rick 4001. When I bought it, the bass had been refinished in a medium light blue without any clearcoat(it still looked better than the original tobacco sunburst, I'm sure). The back pad snaps had been removed and the holes filled, though the pad was included in the case with the bass. At least I didn't pay much for it! I think I might have made a few dollars on the sale of that one!
-1970s big headstock Fender Stratocaster: maple neck, Olympic(?) White, Kahler tremolo(in black-yuck). What was I thinking when I bought it? I put it up for sale as soon as I saw a couple of U.S. vintage RI models.
-Washburn single cutaway Acoustic 12 string with built in pickup and graphic EQ style volume controls in white(bought on a whim, it reinforced my general dislike of acoustic guitars): I was ecstatic when I sold the thing!
