The A/B Road Tapes

Post by webhead »

Can anyone tell me anything about the A/B Road Tapes by Purple Chick? Was this an actual underground release? Thanks

Yes. It's a legitimate "Underground" release and essential core collection of Beatles Outtakes. Unfortunately it's also 81 CD's. I'd be more than willing to B&P them to you if you wanna spend for the blanks and postage back and forth....

Wasn't this the Nagra material that had surfaced a few years ago?

Gerald, check out http://x3mkungen.mine.nu/wogev/beatles/pc/index.html

I wonder if anyone's cut down the A/B Road to somewhat of a "greatest hits" kind of thing. I don't know if I could grind through 98 hours of out-takes and white noise.

For other Purple Chick Releases, see http://6plus3.wordpress.com/

Yes - I have an "abriged" version which is Called "Thirty Days" by Yellow Dog, basically cutting out the chit chat and the arguing and the mumbling and stuff and offering up the music in a fairly coherent fashion, Day by Day - JUST the songs they recorded, although even then you get ten half songs and breakdowns per disc. It's a great collection and much more manageable than A/B Road, but i still prefer A/B Road.

Cheers!

I want JUST the arguing and mumbling. I wonder how many discs that would fill up.
