Yes Ilan, I just bought a March from Olivias and I would like to think that I am finished but who knows? To tie this in with COY, of course there wasn't one back then, but I have tried to get all the colors available in 1973 but finally settled on another fireglo. So I have (or will have when the refins are done), Jan(trans burgundy refin), Feb(jetglo), March(fireglo), April(eggplant burgundy), May(azureglo), June(white refin), July(fireglo). The only two colors missing are mapleglo and walnut. So maybe I'm not done yet.... :).

It's funny how colors grow on people. In the 70's, 80's I would never look at an FG..now I love them..

Seems like some COY's grew on people after they were produced. Maybe it's because until you actually see the color, it doesn't have full effect. Then it's usually too late to order.

When I first saw the black trim option in the 80's, I didn't like it at all. I remember seeing a red 4003 BT new at the store and didn't want it. Now the BT basses are my favorites, and yes, I have a red 4003 BT and it's my second favorite color combo.

I'm just the opposite. I really liked the black trim back when it was an option, but now I'm leaving towards white trim. As for COY I really like Seafoam, or Blue(green) Boy. I don't own any yet though.

I really don't like the coys except for burgundy ... and blueburst ...

the blue boy annoys me, sea green is too 50s, desert gold leaves me cold, monty brown is to much like the lame Fender sunburst, and amber fireglo looks really bad over the white inlays and white binding ... (although afg might look good on a 4004cii)

I have never been the type to buy another Ric just to get another color ...

I prefer to get another Ric because it will sound different ... Each of my 6 Rics sound quite different from the other Rics ... I have a 4004ci 4-2-5, a 4004L 4-2-5, a 4003s5, a 4003 4-2-5 and a 2030 4-2-5 and a 2020 4-2-5 ... no duplication at all ... the only Ric I want to get is a 4004cii and then 4-2-5 it. Then I will not need any Rics ...

Jeff, you've always been a guy with strongly-felt and clearly-stated opinions. No surprises there...but surely you meant that you will not need any more Ricks?

Certainly true for me and Turquoise - until I saw one in hand at the 75th, I was not impressed with it. TQ is a really nice color on the instrument.
