From Roger's Homespun Tapes.com video. I have a copy of it.

Now, the fun begins when you can take everything that he teaches on the DVD and make up accompaniments and breaks to songs neither he as a soloist, nor the Byrds ever recorded.

Yeah Jim!

Ever since seeing RM's instructional video I've been playing many songs in his (well sort of) style. Not that I'm even remotely close to mastering it...those finger picks...

I enjoy "What if-ing" the Byrds, had have written, arranged and recorded....for example "A Hard Days Night" Good fun.

Anyone else Byrdsy-ing the Beatles?

You bet cha! Try `I'll Be Back' [the beatles version, not arnold's]
I have a hard time with the double time solo section on TTT, any suggestions :?:

Play it very slowly. And play along with the half-speed version he does on the DVD. The bad news is, you need to tune your guitar down a half step in order to play along. Also there's an odd measure during the solo where the singer would normally sing:

"And a time to ev'ry purpose under Heaven."

I always mess up "...and a time..." With practice I'll get it.

I'm used to finger picking the guitar. So dealing with finger picks, and switching the index finger pick to the ring finger wasn't too much of a stretch.

What's a challenge for me is "Eight Miles High." I figure once I've mastered that, I'm a pretty fair way down the road to mastering RM's style.

Here's a fun suggestion: Next December, if you have a Christmas themed gig, or a jam, try inserting two Christmas carols into Eight Miles High. "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" and "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen." What a hoot! It works.
