Is it true?

Post by albi4001 »

Hello,
I´m new here in this forum and play several Rickenbacker basses
for 23 years. Februar 08 I ordered a mapleglo 4001c64 here in Germany.
Is it true that have to wait 24months for it  ?

Here in Germany they told me it would last 13 months.
Do you think it depends on the colour? Maybe Rickenbacker would deliver faster
if I ordered this bass in fireglo?

MG and FG are the two most common colors, I would think. It probably does not matter which you ordered.

Welcome, Albrecht!

RIC is trying to cut the backlog down, so we can hope that your wait time will be a bit less than 24 months.

That is a beautiful part of Germany. I spent the better part of 2 weeks along the Rhein a few years back. It was a very pleasant time. Someday I will be back there but probably not until the dollar is closer in value to the Euro.

Sounds like the backlog is serious, and has been for a while. But don't be too lax about gtting the money up. In 2001 I was told by the factory 6-8 months for a new 650 Dakota. I had to scramble for the cash 2 weeks later...

I don't think you can expect that sort of a surprise, but 24 could easily become 12 or so.

Welcome aboard!

Look on the bright side then, while you wait, the money is earning interest! Welcome, too!
