Thanks for your efforts, Sean...it's an interesting instrument. I would have used something other than speed knobs and perhaps shaped the control plate a bit different, but it's interesting nonetheless.

You and I are a bit more conventional than Mr. K.

Only by a small fraction...
Re: A Lemmy I can afford!
The RIC content was licensed for this figure. If you go to lemmyfigure.com directly, you can buy it there. I got one for about $28.00 shipped to go with my Hurrie Currie(sp?) figurine. I can only imagine what she and Lemmy will do on my mantle piece while I sleep

Thanks, Dane. FYI, these cast-resin pieces are infertile.

Well, as I've mentioned before, he is a very knowledgeable student of the Second World War, and one of the foremost private collectors of Nazi and WWII memorabilia. That doesn't make him a Nazi, though I can understand that the symbolism can make a lot of people very nervous. I've met him on a number of occasions over the years, and if there's one thing I've known about him for all that time is, he's about as far from a racist or an anti-semite as you can get. You don't have to spend more than about five minutes in his company to work that out.phlemmy wrote:To deny Lemmy's use of the Nazi symbol is just silly. While he may not be a supporter of the 3rd Reich, he has always enjoyed their imagery.
By the way, I think his personal stack has grown somewhat over the years.

Which probably explains these quotes: "LK: I got to give it to the man [Adolf Hitler], one thing that he did have was unshakable f***ing faith. (...) I say, it was sixty years ago so get f***ing over it."gareth wrote:he's about as far from a racist or an anti-semite as you can get.
Yeah, the guy''s a real Mother Teresa.
Re: A Lemmy I can afford!
How does that statement make Lemmy an anti-semite? It doesn't. One way to prevent things like that from ever happening again is to understand how it happened...the events leading up to it...the cult of personality. I can't believe the discussion keeps getting pulled in this direction just because the motorhead logo layout is inspired by the Nazi deaths head eagle and Lemmy wears German WWII officers uniforms. The only way I'll let someone offend me is if they intend to offend me. Do do otherwise would be to live my life with a chip on my shoulder.

I'm not accusing him of being pro/against. I'm just sayin'. I know the guy who has sold him some of his rarest pieces and held most of them in my hand before being shipped out.gareth wrote:Well, as I've mentioned before, he is a very knowledgeable student of the Second World War, and one of the foremost private collectors of Nazi and WWII memorabilia. I love that bass.phlemmy wrote:It was made by the late Paul Hadwen and give to Lemmy by Phil Campbell.

And for the record about what Lemmy said about Hitler. I've made that point on here as well. I respect Hitler. Not for what he did, but that he had the guts to do it. He's a sick mother"father" but he was determined.

Obsession. Strong stuff. When other folks hit that point beyond which they can't be bothered anymore, the obsessive just keeps on truckin'.

exactly.
It makes me sick that these symbols are used to inspire hatred. Like the skinheads using the Southern Flag combined with the Nazi Swastika.
As a German decendant I can tell you no one in my family has ties to that dark time in our history. Most people I know who were in Germany at that time left. Some didnt even know of the Atrocities that were going on like any other bad government, they gave the general public information on a need to know basis. I guess the Nazi's felt most didnt need to know.......till it was too late

Re: A Lemmy I can afford!
A parallel in some ways to today, I wonder?
