Just curious as o what the story was with this bass. I know about the limited production and have seen pictures. Does anyone actually own one?Played one? What is it like?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Yesterday was the third anniversary of placing my order for one, and I'm still waiting (and NOT holding my breath) ...
My basses are Rickenbackers. My synthesizers and recording gear are analog.

I believe a few were finished and delivered before the original carver left RIC. Like Doug, I've passed the third anniversary as well, but according to RIC they will be produced - they're just not sure when.

One came up on ebay a while ago ...

Has anybody elese noticed there are 2 and 3 pickup models?

Also Lemmy added a high gain cover as a hand rest ... well no accounting for taste ...

I agree with the taste thing, that looks awful.

I think the two pickup model was the prototype that was displayed at NAMM three years ago. The normal production models should have three pickups. Looking at that picture of Lemmy, it looks like he's also replaced the volume and tone knobs with chicken head knobs.

I posted a thread earlier about one listed for sale by a dealer on Harmony Central classifieds - at a greater-than-list price!
