Hey Edward,

I hate to say it, but I've seen them go up to $2700.00 on Ebay.

I know of a DEALER who wants $2500.00 for a NEW one.....

So, if it is mint, it isn't TOO shabby....but that is more than I would pay.....

Bottom line, if it is worth it to you, go for it....You don't see a LOT of 'em floating around for sale.

Blueburst is an awesome color, I've been tempted by a couple of those but I'm just not a 4003 player. I keep seeing the bass player from the band Lifehouse playing his blueburst on the tele. He was on the Fuse channel's show "the sauce" today playing one, very eye catching and a great advert for RIC basses.

It's worth whatever you are willing to pay. It's really that simple. I wouldn't pay that much but it also isn't high on my list of "wants" right now. You could wait and probably find one cheaper but then it might not feel as nice or the burst might be less attractive. If you like it and can afford it then go for it and don't worry about what others think.

I hate to admit it, but if I hadn't got such a great deal from John Fay, I would have probably paid $2,200.

Do it...if you really want it . I bought a 98 FG4001V63 about six months ago . The price was high with a BIN of $2499 . I had just gotten the money and really wanted a V63 so I hit it . Turns out the Vs just keep getting more expensive and that price probably will not look to bad in the near future.

Its a tough call right now. $2200.00 seems bit high, but then again, the economy is reallly slow this year. In my opinion, when I see what new Fireglo's, Mapleglo's and Jetglo's can go for at times, $2K seems about right for a discontinued finish, especially something desirable like Blueburst.

A 2006 BBR 4003 sold in Tokyo in the last couple of weeks for around $1,950 + shipping - that's retail, so the high $1ks should be achievable with a bit of patience.
