Actually, I saw it had no strings and looked like it was missing three tuners. So I retracted my bid. The guy also has significant negative feedback and never sold an item like this. Can't believe it's up to over $800 already.

Neither can I.

A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

I noticed the string issue after I bid, so I'm out on pursuing it further, it's probably going to get into a bidding war, and it's past the point I'm willing to pay for a duplicate bass in my collection. If it was only a redneck...

Dedgoat- Tell us more about your existing Tuxedo!
How's the condition and how did you get it? What certificate number is it? I have one as well, and have rarely seen another; never another in person...

Bought from the original owner who had purchased it for a boyfriend, that never got to him, long story is that it didn't get played much if any 8.9 out of 10 condition Still had the original cloth, and case keys. The finish has yellowed like most white Ric finishes do, I don't remember the exact production number, (I'll look when I get home tonight)but it's in the first production run of 100 if memory serves me right. The odd thing about the Tux basses is that they seem to have chunkier bodies and necks than the standard 4000 series basses, I think that it might mave been around the time the CNC milling became standard at the plant, but that's pure speculation, JH or Kenny could probably answer that question.
