12-hole trapeze ?

Post by steverok »

Does anyone know where I can locate a trapeze tail piece with 12 holes instead of the 6 ? When I break a string, I can't get it out of there, with the two strings in one hole.

I believe Don Adamek once offered these. He's a member, under "Rick12dr".

I thread the octave string through the ball end of the main string when stringing a trapeze. Usually slides right out if I pop it.

Do you have a picture of this ? I find it fascinating that I don't understand what you are describing ...

I tried that with my 660/12 on it's first ever string change. Works like a champ.

I find it perplexing that you find it fascinating that you don't understand what they are describing. Wait, what the %^&* did I just say?

Seriously, I've never tried that. I will next time.

I had seen George Harrison's first 12 string, strung with the ball ends on the top and bottom of the trapeze. I tried it and it works just fine.

under over works ok but 12 hole trapeze is imho worth it too. ultimate fix would be to redesign the whole contraption with something gretsch like with bar on the top of the trapeze - e.g. piece of aluminum screwed to the end of the trapeze.
