Installing a Compresser foot pedal in a Rickenbacker

I one time ask Peter M. about people installing the floor foot pedal circuit in a Rickenbacker guitar, I lost the information...
I would save my original electronics and pickguard and make a new pickguard and electronics...
I have a red MXR dyna comp that has minimal electronics and is small in size, I though it would fit???

Has anybody ever tried this....
Pros and cons....

How good is that MXR? Is it true it's got a legendary sound? I used that blue BOSS pedal for a while, not really satisfying...

Without proper shielding ,installing a compressor inside a guitar will have lots of noise.You will get plenty of RF .Installed in a hollow /semi hllow bidied guitar ...you would need to create a metal container to encapsulate it .Then all the positive leads that are 2 inches or longer need to be changed to braided shielded cable.This is the best shielded cable .The foil wrap is not as noiseless and this is indeed audible.

Next comes ...the battery mount ,where does it go and what type?

The RM 12strign with a built in compressor was an okay circuit .I had an old Dan Armstrong Orange squeezer in one of my 12 strings for a long time .I took it out due to the noise factor .

My personal feelings on on board electronics is this ...keep them on the floor.You can remove them with a yank of the cord.

Make a pedal board instead.

According to Mr. Hall, McGuinn was using an MXR Dyna Comp to get "that sound" before the 370/12RM compression circuit was built.

The various blue BOSS Compressor/Sustainer pedals are not all alike, and each model has different controls along with different specs. Which model were you using? The CS-1, the CS-2, or the current CS-3?

well thats cool to know that I hit it on the mark if thats true about the MXR....
I realise that the all Boss pedals are different I never owned the 1st type they had got too expensive and hard to find by the time I found the cs-2, I was just telling what I thought of that pedal and found it to be hard to use or it was too much compression....
