My wife is looking for a 20.75" scale RIC . She had a 330....too long,,,sold it . She has a 660/12FG....loves it forever but would be more comfortable with a short scale . Im kicking myself for not bidding higher on ebay for a 325V59 . It hit $2200 and I thought that was too much for a guitar that 1 year ago was selling for $1200.

It's what bands ask for backstage. You know: 4 cases of local craft brewed beer, a pound of prosciutto, assorted cheese plate, green M&M's, etc.



A ryder is one of the 'student' brands that Rickenbacker produced in the 50's & 60's, like an Electro.

There have been a few 320s pop recently that have gone for somewhat reasonable prices (at least in Ric terms)--one just went on the 'bay for around $1450. As far as recent guitars go, the C series 325s and 1996 are probably going to continue to hover in the mid-2s, and the more they increase, I think we're going to continue to see the prices inch up on the V59 and V63 325s...just my opinion.

The 320s won't get any cheaper, but they may remain on the more affordable end of the short scale spectrum for a bit.

At the risk of being branded a heretic, you might want to consider some other options like the Fender Mustang--a very small bodied guitar with a 24" scale--not as short as the Rics, but a comfortable scale to be sure-and super affordable.

Odd as it might sound, the Squier Strat Mini, normally considered a kid's guitar (for good reason), has the old Duo-Sonic/Musicmaster student scale of 22.5". I'd say Duo-Sonic, but the older ones with this in-between but comfortable scale length are hovering in the $1200-1500 range these days...

Damn the torpedos she says ! Fender ? No way ! As luck would have it, I got the "second chance" offer in my ebay mail . She is now waiting for her 325V59 to ship from Denver . $2188 shipped . I think that figure is in the ballpark for current prices . Thanks for the info everybody

There are two ways to get photos posted on this site, but first you must size them correctly. If you're on Windows, the best and cheapest way (it's free...) is irfanview, http://www.irfanview.com.

This program is very much like the old pre-CS Photoshop in the way it's arranged and the layout of its toolbar, and makes it very easy to crop or reduce photos in size and change resolution.

Once the picture is down to 600 DPI in height, you can either upload it to photobucket (http://www.photobucket.com) and link to it, which depending upon which link you use, will either post a link in text, or the actual picture, right in your reply. Alternatively, you can use the link right on the Forum's "reply" page to insert it into your reply text as a clickable thumbnail.
