'nother newbie

Post by zman »

Hello Friends! I'm Doug from Oregon. Been snooping around here for a couple years now. Great place to visit. Wealth of knowledge and friendliness. I am a long time Rickenbacker lover. Fell in love around '76..(my sophomore year in h.s.) after hearing 2112 for the first time. Glenn Hughes contributed to the fever as well. Anyway...finally scored my first 4003 in '84. A beautiful spankin' new 4003 W/BT from Apple Music in Portland. Sadly, had to part with it some years back. I am back in the brotherhood now however, with my new in '06, '05 Jetglo 4003. I have pimped it to my taste with a black Pickguardian pickguard, clear plexi Pickguardian surround and black with silver logo TRC from RIC. Absolutely love it! Gnarliest sounding and looking basses ever built! Great site. Keep up the good work. Long live Rickenbacker! Cheers.

Glenn Hughes?! GLENN HUGHES?!

You're my new best friend Doug....
Glenn is the man!

Here's my '74 which bears a striking resemblance to the bass Glenn used in '73 with Deep Purple:

Welcome to the forum....if you want to talk all things Glenn feel free to PM me.

Thanks for the warm welcome friends. It will most likely require assistance from my computer savvy daughter to post pics. I'm the kind of guy who is still looking for the "pinball" machines in my local arcade. I will see what we can do. Beautiful fireglo Chris! Thanks again.

Welcome back to the fold, Doug! :D

Oh, to post pics, they need to be at most 800 x 600 pixels and 135k (IIRC) in file size. As you are typing in a post, look below the text box and there is a tab with Upload Attachment on it. Click that, then Browse and find the picture, add file uploads it to the server, then pick Place inline. Repeat up to the limit of 3 times. If you have more pics (perfectly fine), make a second post with up to 3 more. I hope this is clear.
