BOTV- Johhny B Goode
Re: BOTV- Johhny B Goode
So..a no brainer for the best version:
4
3
2
1
My favorite 2 and 3 would be Jimi Hendix and Johnny Winter...

Re: BOTV- Johhny B Goode
Version # 4 is the best of these.
#3 is an interesting little vignette of Elvis' life, imo. Take a great little rock & roller, add in a bunch of excess (baking vocals sound like a choir, huge band, etc) and you suck the life right out of it.

my thanks to all who take part, I find it interesting to see the views of others.
Re: BOTV- Johhny B Goode
Never liked this much, but suspect there's some big names among the contenders.
1. 4
2. 1
3. 3
4. 2
2 suffers from poor sound quality. The rest of the field is quite even in my opinion.

For me Roy. I have alway liked the original the best. #1 is a close second. He was a favorite of mine. The other two as Simon Cowell would say, "are forgettable".

3 (I've heard him do this song better than here)
2 (don't know who this one is, and as someone else said, it loses out because of the sound quality)

Re: BOTV- Johhny B Goode
Thanks to all who voted, pretty wel supported which is encouraging from my point of view
OK versions were
version 1 Jerry Lee Lewis
version 2 The Monkees(live poor recording but that is on Disc)
version 3 Elvis Presley
version 4 Chuck Berry
Still we have no 100% of everyone voting for same favourite but we came pretty close here
72% went for Chuck Berry
22% went for Jerry Lee Lewis
6% went for Monkees
0% went for Elvis
I was asked how come two acts got same percentage last week but didn't tie, that all depends on how many place a particular track has their second favourite etc.
Thanks again to all those who take the time to vote.
