Gene Clark's Tambourine on eBay?

Post by doctorwho »

Is this legit?

If it is what is claimed, it would be a nice piece of rock memorabilia.

Can you find Gene's signature on it, or any other kind of positive i.d.? I can't. These sorts of tambourines are (relatively speaking) cheap, cheap, cheap. (meaning most inexpensive)

Didn't sell (duh!) but relisted ... I don't understand the 'provenance' as shown in the ad ... doesn't seem relevant.

What a joke! The first time the seller listed it with a starting bid of $4,995. This time he's got it listed with a starting bid of $995. Wait about another week and he should have it down to $9.95.

nope, it sold this time for $1802 ... I almost asked the seller what his/her connection to Gene was. In the recent biography of Gene (the seller has a picture of the cover in the ad), it is stated that some people went into Gene's place right after his death and more or less pillaged it. I think that that knowledge kept me from bidding on it at all.
