This looks as if the necks were purposly built for being door handles:

1. Notice the blueburst finish of the opposite neck, this is pretty new, I doubt there is any "dead" blueburst 4003 to scavange the neck from.
2. Notice the headstock curl on the blueburst, not only a blueburst, a lefty one...!

I'd guess it is used in a RIC office.

How cool is that? Regardless of the location, that handle deserves to be in a bassment. 8)

From looking at the wall visible behind the glass doors in comparison with previous photos of the guitar gallery/showroom/museum-whatever it's called-at RIC, I'd say it's the door to that room.
