Usually steel, aluminum, or an alloy of some sorts.

Personally I'm more into post wood and post plastic than post metal ...

But my favorite is post disco ...

I am personally into post 4 string music a lot these days ...

is it just me or do many names for musical genres make little sense ...

...you're not alone! It is silly having to pidgeon-hole music into specific categories.

Welcome Nicolas!

I wasn't sure what post-metal was, but I listened to "Ruins" and think it would be a perfect choice for that style.

Geez, I must be getting old, I've never heard of the terms "post metal" or post rock".

I've used my Rick basses in metal bands for years. Always my first choice of bass, no matter what the music is.

I wish we would soon see the era of "Post Horrible Music".

You guys think it's recently gotten much better? I don't. Not too many really good new rock artists out there to me.

I've never found much "mainstream" stuff to my liking anyway. Most of the heavy-ish or hard rock type stuff on corporate radio is nauseating so if that's what you mean by "out there" then I wholeheartedly agree.

I do, however, think much of the traumatizing stuff is in the past (Britney, Mariah, NSYNC, J-Lo, etc.) and while there is plenty of heinous junk out there I think, to some extent, that era has peaked and we can begin to recover. Apparently Hip-Hop isn't going away so we (at least I) just have to deal with it. I've been finding more and more stuff available lately that I enjoy and the painful stuff doesn't seem to be as "in your face" as it was a few years ago.

Maybe with the music industry taking one in the "junk" more real stuff is getting out there and the over hyped trash doesn't have as big of a machine behind it anymore. Or maybe I'm just a loon......I have to go back out to the garage now anyway. Carry on!

I think Ric basses sound great for almost any music style.
We play doom metal, loud as h*ll and tuned down - WAY down.
