20 frets
I recall some talk in this thread about 21 and 22 fretted Ric basses, and I didn't jump in then, so now, I would like to ask a question. It seemed some of you preferred 21 over 22 frets. Can you tell me why? Also, were some 4001's 20 frets? What year(s)? Tanks.
I don't think there were actually any 22 fretted rics, but there are some 21 fretters about.
Nearly all 4001's are 20 frets, but I think from what I've read in these forums a few 21 fret 4001's were made in the early 70's.
I don't know any more that that ,but there are people here that will know so I'll leave it to the experts to explain more
