Have you ever had a feeling, on hearing a new rock'n'roll hit, that you have heard it all before? I, for one, often do. Not necessarily a note-by-note copy, but something that reminds of something else. Anybody wants to play a "guess what it was" game? Posting a link to a track or a vid for a song that reminds you of and then asking, "so where did you hear that before"?
A couple of easy ones.
Does that remind you of something?
And another one — doesn't the riff sound somehow familiar?
Toodle pip. Er, i mean, hope you have a good time.

Free Bird - Green Grass and High Tides Forever
Every Picture Tells a Story - Box of Miracles
That would be, in order, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Outlaws, Rod Stewart, Barefoot Servants.
Just to name a couple.

Strange, Scott, because it works fine for me. Anyway, it's "Get a job" by the Offspring. So what does it remind you of?

Without seeing the first video, I was going to go find a version of that song. Every time I hear it on the radio, I sing OB-LA-DI, OB-LA-DA over the first chorus and then switch stations.

Indeed, Greg.
Now how about the second one? Where's that riff from, originally?

It sounds a bit like like Southern Cross. Sped up of course.

I know the Green Day one is familiar, but I can't place it. The first line of that song "This is public service..." always makes me wish it was Know Your Rights by the Clash.
Another well-documented sound alike is Come as You Are by Nirvana
