Italian ebay raised letter trc

Post by weemac »

Hi all!
I recently got one of those raised letter trcs from the Italian seller. See this:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... :IT&ih=002

I received it in good time, However it looks a bit different to the later 70s trc that I have.
It is a bit thinner and there is barely any beveling on the edge of it. the holes are positioned corectly but seem a little bigger than I remember as well.
The last new trc that saw was on my early 90s 4003 and 360 that I had. Have the new trcs changed a bit since then?

Has anyone else got one of these trcs from this seller?
Have I purchased a well made fake?

It would seem a bit silly to go to the effort of reproducing the raised letter trc when it would be easier to copy the plexi ones...

Any ideas?

emac.

Looks legit to me. It could be a 90s model TRC. I agree....it would be more expensive to make one of these vs. the vintage type.

I had a bit of a look about (there is a lot of variations) but it seems to be a late 80s to early 90s one to me.
Any other opinions?

I think that it is unfortunately a fake. Something similar was discussed here - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=288210&st=0&sk=t&sd ... lack+white.
Sérgio Silva and Ted Staberow's comments on the first page seem to nail it.

The sheer volume this guy sells makes me wonder. Another thing on these is the "Made in USA" is smooth, like it was silk screened, not stamped with a little impression.

Well spotted. I could not find enough pictures of real ones to see if they made some with just the screenprinting on the "USA" bit
Bugger! what a waste of money.
I wonder if I could get my money back?

Many regards to all!
