Jerry, it was a homecoming jam for a friend who had just returned from a 10 month tour of the Persian Gulf, courtesy of the U S Navy.

Love that left-handed CW12, Richard! Very vintage-looking fireglo...
Re: Picture of you playing your Ric...part 2
Hi Simon, long time no hear! Cool photos. You certainly kept me guessing with that 4001; looked like it may have been related to one of Lemmys. Which is a good thing in my book....and bring on the Azure photos!
Re: Picture of you playing your Ric...part 2
Me in 93 when I was skinny and had hair...

Re: Picture of you playing your Ric...part 2
Me in 94 (?) with my old Azure (now belongs to a friend who has named it "the Beast")...

Re: Picture of you playing your Ric...part 2
Me last year, wearing my bass too high for me (doubtless the reason for the frown)...

Not having dug back into the archives, I'd say that is a bass between 1968 and 1971, yes, Shaun?
Re: Picture of you playing your Ric...part 2
Great pics! Beautiful FG Shaun.
Re: Picture of you playing your Ric...part 2
Cheers guys! The bass is a Feb 72, and my favourite bass. Light as a feather in Ric terms and relatively mellow-sounding.

Thanks, Shaun. That helps date the production change to the skunk stripe and from the walnut headwings. My June '72 has the stripe.
Re: Picture of you playing your Ric...part 2
Paul, the earliest that I've played with a skunk was Neil Brewer's (of Druid) May 72. I did once play a December 72 Jglo that I'm pretty sure didn't have one though; I guess that may have just slipped through the net somehow!
