My Blackstar...

Post by phlemmy »

Is moving on to greener pastures. One of our own is taking ownership and I gave him the same deal that I got. Yeah, I probably could have made some profit on it, but it just didn't seem like the thing to do this time around. (Wait, did I just type that out loud?)

It's beautiful. I plays as well if not better than any Ric I have ever owned. It's in GREAT shape. And therein lies the problem. To me it's a collector's piece and not a player's piece. I would have dogged it out a bit. My basses get used, this one wouldn't have. Plus I wouldn't have felt right about replacing the original strap buttons etc etc. Blah blah blah.

It's new owner will love it, I'm sure.

Very cool of you to pass along the good deal, Sean. :D

So, is the mapleglo/BT gonna see the most gig time again?

I understand, Sean. Even though I take pretty good care of my basses, I feel much more comfortable playing a broken in '00 mapleglo 4003 than I would a collector's item. Everybody's different, but I understand where you're coming from on this one.

It'll be in rotation with the MID/BT and the JG/BT.

Fully understand that, Sean. Faced the same choice and did the same thing. It's a nasty dilemma cause, as you point out, those Blackstars are such great players.

This is long over due for me. I’ve wanted a BS ever since I joined this forum back in the day and never had the chance to grab one for one reason or another

Thanks to Sean for giving me the op to pick up this bad boy! 8)

Thanks Folks! I’m pretty stoked right now :D

Like I said earlier, I’ve been waiting a long time to get one of these.

Next on the list is to get my Shadow back 8)

I still kick myself for not buying Skiffington's Shadow a few years back. It would have been a good gigging bass.
