Jake: Shhhh, don't tell my wife, OK? She thinks this isn't just the first: she thinks it's the "only"
It is...the only one in that color!
Congrats Mark!

I've had a FEW Monty's myself! Brian is right, they look SO much better in person!

IMHO, they are one of the most stunning colors RIC has used recently.

By the way, JEFF is right....IT STARTS with ONE!

So true. These days all I get is the follow up questions (in quick succession) "what color is it" and "how much this time".

Very true John....

My STRICT LIMIT was 4, then 8, I pushed it to12........then the door slammed shut on me. I'd love to get a "bakers dozen" but it doesn't look good. :(

Tony, aren't you still waiting on a BBR? Won't that make it the baker's dozen?

"bakers dozen"
What a fitting segue into the "New Kitchen" discussion!

You get the baker's dozen, she gets the kitchen!

Poor Tony!

Oh, BTW, congrats, Mark! I would love to see that color in person.

Only problem with achieving the baker's dozen and Janie getting her kitchen is Tony would have to finance it with some of those Baker's dozen basses, then it wouldn't be a baker's dozen anymore so she wouldn't need the kitchen, which then means Tony could re-buy..... I'm getting dizzy...... :P

All one has to do to avoid detection by the Mrs. is to not store all of the instruments in the same place, and use the same type of case, of course. One here, one there, all in out of the way places, and she'll never know. If you don't show off each new bass to her, then she won't even notice when you are playing a different color bass each time. She'll think, "wait, I thought his bass was more brown...ah, nevermind".

Even my bandmates, who actually play music, and so should notice the differences between a variety of guitars, didn't even notice that I was playing a 381V69 SIX string for a number of rehearsals. I do have a twelve string in the same finish, but the headstock is different, and obviously, a six string does not sound like a twelve string. I had to point the guitar out to them evenutally. :o

Thanks, everybody, for the kind words.

As to the "limit", I showed this thread to my wife. She's not laughing (well, at least not on the outside - she's trying to keep a stern exterior)
