Roger McGuinn with Springsteen in Orlando
Roger McGuinn with Springsteen in Orlando
Last night in Orlando, Roger joined Bruce onstage to perform Turn Turn Turn and MTM. The visual quality of these bits of cell-phone video are pretty useless, but the sound is o.k., despite TTT being cut off. At least you can get a feel for the respect and high regard Bruce has for Roger. Truly "ragged-but-right" performances.
Right before the Springsteen tour started in Hartford on 2/28, we were asked to send a JangleBox for Steven Van Zandt's rig. So, there's a good chance that there are two JBs onstage during this performance.

I can barely make it out, but on closer inspection it looks like Roger is playing Steven's 660-12.janglebox wrote:Right before the Springsteen tour started in Hartford on 2/28, we were asked to send a JangleBox for Steven Van Zandt's rig. It almost looks like a 660/12 DCM 75th! You don't suppose they made one for him?
But I suspect it could be a Jetglo as well.

Re: Roger McGuinn with Springsteen in Orlando
I`m hoping this shows up on the Dimeadozen site. The night before in FLA is there.
Re: Roger McGuinn with Springsteen in Orlando
The Orlando show is now available for download on The Dimeadozen site. Very good sounding recording.

Dimeadozen?
OK, for us non-websters, I'll admit to total ignorance and ask what is that? I see you have to get on a waiting list to actually visit the site. Can you download specific tunes or is it all videos.
What the heck is a Bit Torrent site??
Thank you for the education!

Bit Torrent is a peer networking protocol.
The more people that have a file, the faster it will be to download.
See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent
People upload shows (either audio or video) to sites such as Dime a Dozen.
The files are uploaded in a "lossless" format. In other words, compressed file formats such as MP3 are not allowed.
DaD has a very strict policy of not allowing commerical material to be uploaded nor any material that is banned by the artist.
Yes, since it is so popular, sometimes there is a "waiting period" to get an account.
Just have to try again later.
Hope that helps.

No problem Tim, my pleasure.
Dime has really been an amazing source for historical knowledge and great listening/viewing pleasure.
I hardly log on any more 'cause there are just so many CDs one can listen to in one's lifetime.
PS: I should warn you that topics like DaD often bring up caustic exchanges on music forums.

OK, now Bit Torrent/Dimeadozen question number 2.
I have a Mac. I have managed to become a member and downloaded the /flac files.
Is there some program for Macs that will now convert these to MP3s?
Also, this BitTorrent program won't open the files. Is there some trick? When I ask it to open the files are greyed out.
Sorry about this. Any help appreciated.
