I saw the Markbass 8x10 that has grille cloth on the front, but didn't ask the price (too scared). At least you don't see those $%^#@ yellow/orange cones! I'm not sure what shade that color is, but I could think of about 800 million better ones!
I got someone coming over later to look at the B2RE and 410 HLF. If they buy, I came out 50 bucks ahead...not counting the fact that I got the B2RE for 199 at the GC Labor day sale, and would get 325 for it.

I was looking for a cabinet to go with my Markbass LMK head, and I figured that I would probably end up with a Markbass cabinet. I talked to Dave at Club Bass in Toronto, who suggested trying a Bergantino cabinet. He said that most players who A/B'd the Markbass and Bergantino cabs ended up going with the Bergantino. Wow, what a great combination! I've never been happier with with my sound.

I use my Traynor YS-15 cabinets loaded with Eminence Delta Pros or my EV B-110 cab with a 10BX driver in it.

I doubt I will get another cab. It all depends on what the PB-212 sounds like next Sunday. It was the cab we used at last year's confl. This year, it'll just have a new head!

What moved you away from the SVT that you were so fond of last year? I ask because SVT3 vs. Markbass is the comparison I've been doing lately.

I have no drummer, and the tubes weren't punchy enough to keep the beat. Loved the tone, hated playing. As soon as I went back to SS, our tempo improved. A drummer makes our life a WHOLE lot easier!! My theory is the punch of the kick and the snare is what keeps folks on time. With that not present, I need a very fast attack that punches right through, or we slow down......EVERY TIME! The slower the song, the bigger the problem. I have to stay WAY on top of the beat also, or it feels like I'm pulling 500 pounds behind me.
In all honesty, if I wanted to play everything with a pick, I might have been able to keep it, but I got a new b2re for 199 at a GC sale, and thought it was worth a shot just to see if it might work, which it did, so I got my money back out of the SVT.

I didn't have to move mine around, left it in church, but then I needed an amp for home and an amp for work. What I have now is a 2x12 cab at home, a 2x12 at church, the LMKII I can take back and forth, and the little Rumble 60 for work. Well, a NEW development! I took the PB212 with the Neo mag speakers (lighter than the one with Eminence 38 oz ceramic mags), and it fits the Markbass perfectly! With the extra bit of compression that the neo mags give, I was able to readjust the settings on the LMKII to 11:00 for the low and midlow, and 1:00 for the upper mid and treble. The other two knobs are all the way down. I got a very nice punchy but low tone with the Rick! Prolly the best sound I have had, and I have had some more than decent amps and cabs over the years. I had tried the Eminence at home but it was not as punchy. I think the extra compression that the neo gives, is what the LMKII was designed for, as it fits like a glove!

I played my P/J through it this Sunday and the sound was right on, and I didn't have to make any adj, other than turning down the master a tad. I may put Chromes back on the 4003. They just didn't sound good through the last setup, but the P/J has chromes and it sounded great.......
The big advantage I have with this system besides the weight reduction, is the tone controls are very responsive. Way more so that the B2RE, even with its nine band eq.
I have had at least a half dozen folks notice a difference in my tone.
