They also had a beat up '77 4001 with Seymore Duncans in it that they wanted stupid money for.

Scott, the last "official" year for Black Trim was 2002, but there has been at least one exception (aside from the recent RIC Outlet/eBay item). I think the elimination of BT was one of RIC's efforts to keep up with orders for the more popular/standard white/chrome trim. It may have come about because of a dwindling supply of black hardware items and a decision not to reorder them. Makes sense.
