The Stratocaster!
The Stratocaster!
Bought a new Strat this week..more on that later when I learn how to downsize pictures for posting! Here's a pretty cool documentary featuring Hank Marvin, Dick Dale and The Stratocaster!
Re: The Stratocaster!
Congrats on the new Strat George. I have a guitar closet full of them (10 or more. I have lost count). They are no doubt one of the most versatile instruments ever conceived. They are also well designed and a breeze to play.

Congrats on the new strat George.
The instrument certainly has made its mark, and stood the test of time. It is a credit to its designer.
I have a home built one fitted out with Kinman Pickups, sounds nice through the HRD.
Hi Brian, hows it all going ????

Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.

I am doing good Shane.
It's good to see you back on the board. I left you a note on the Ozfest thread btw. This is strange because my wife was just asking if I had heard from you.

Re: The Stratocaster!
How about a picture, big surf?
I wonder if that YouTube clip is from "Strat Masters", a 2 hour, 45 minute-long documentary produced in the UK, covering lots of territory on Strats.
Highly recommended, BTW. I've seen only 1/4 of my own copy; that's why I'm not sure if this clip is an excerpt...

I think it's the same production Paul. I'd like to borrow your copy when you finish watching it. Also "The Beloved Invaders"jingle_jangle wrote:How about a picture, big surf?

Well. . . ???
How'za'bout a written description, then.
Re: The Stratocaster!
I'm trying! New learning curve for me...I'll get there. For now in words:
The new Strat has a red metalflake body with a larger C shaped neck med frets. Fender custom shop '54 pups. Graphtech saddles. Switching is set up ala the Fender Custom Shop Dick Dale model with no tone knobs, a 3 way pup selector switch and a toggle switch for mixing in the middle pup with the neck or bridge...more yo come

It's true....link on "The Others" Forum. Bitchin' guitar but covers the same ground +/- soundwise as others I have...the fit and finish though is top notch so somewhat hard to pass it along but made the decision awhile back "If I don't play them enough I don't keep them"sir_andrew_of_left_coast wrote:An appearance on Craigs List?kenposurf wrote:...more yo come

That was a quick love affair George! Oh well, if it's not right, it's not right! Good luck with the sale!

The guitar is right as can be and I prefer over the several Fender Custom Shop DD models I've owned (very small radius and frets on those). It would be nice to keep it but I know it would not get that much gig use as I'm locked in to P90's...it's a finely built instrument that needs to be played and not hung on a wall![]()
