Slow Server?

Post by ben_brown »

I don't know what it is but for the last week or two everything on this forum is terribly slow loading on my PC. Everywhere else I surf seems to be ok.
Anyone else getting this? :?

Occasionally I'll get a page that downloads slowly.

I have not noticed anything unusual.

For me the YouTube videos are really slow. If I click again on the video and open another tab, then the video from the YouTube page plays right.

Yeah, I've had difficulties from time to time with youtube videos, too. But the forum seems to be OK...at least tonight.

Nothing to report here, Commander. DSL is up and running smoothly for quick access. Over and out....Goofyfoot.

YouTube is sometimes a tad slow, but I think it's their servers. This Forum loads great...now, Gretschpages...that's a ridiculously slow server.

Currently there is nothing wrong with the server and it works really fast even for me (I am 20,000Km away...)

If you are using the blue theme - try using one of the other 2, the blue theme is VERY heavy unless you run a browser that can alpha-blend images (like firefox or IE7).
If you ARE running any of these two then it must be something at your end (for example - ISPs in Israel tend to have their DSL/Cable users go through a QOS machine, so you actually needs to call them and say: "listen, you either get me off QOS or put xyz.com high on the priority).
They do that to make popular sites faster when their line is choked from P2P downloads, etc...
So long and thanks for all the fish!
