Wow, how did I miss this? Thank you all so much!! I had a great b-day, actually I bought myself a new Spector bass.
Well, played it all week....loved the tone...then played my Music Man again and it crushed it. So I'm back where I started but I had a lot of fun working on Exit Stage Left all week.
Thanks again everyone, I'm....well.....a little verklempt.....
Hi-gains V.s. Toasters.....discuss....

And the party (Official party) is at Razzles in Westland tomorrow night. The MM will be the bass of choice but the Spector will be along for the ride.

Do you ever play in your own neighborhood?

My neighborhood is Southfield now. Besides, there aren't many places to play in that hood, or the old hood.

Happy B day Steve ... If I were still back in Michigan I would come by to your party ...

I have found that Spectors are basses that really seem to lack personality

Get a 5 string jazz and put a j-retro preamp in it ...

When I first glanced at the "Subject:" line, I though it read: Steve Cropper. :P

Well, I guess an explanation is in order...When I signed up for this board, lo, 5 years ago or so....(boy, how time flies), I needed a username. I am not Atomic, nor am I a Punk, but I did grow up on Punk (Sex Pistols, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, the Clash, etc).
My name actually came from one of my favorite Van Halen songs from their first album. I guess it just kinda stuck and I've had it for so long that I don't think about it any more :)

Jeff, I do want one of those Jazz basses. It's the J-retro that makes it kick, I'm sure.
PM me and send me your new contact info, I need to contact you. For many reasons.

Go to my web site: http://www.3dentourage.com/425 and there will be a link there to email me.

The 5 string jazz with the sd 1/4 pound pickups and the schaller bridge and the j-retro preamp makes a nice 5 string bass. it still retains an organic jazz bass sound but has the high fi active sound as well.

So are the wings going all the way this year?

Yes, they are :) Turco has some kind of mental block about playing in Joe Louis...and the Wings are just playing too well. I fear Pittsburgh in the final, though.

Every year Vancouver gets knocked out early, my sons and I get on the "Red Wings" band wagon. I have to agree with the Pittsburgh comment but only to the point of respect. Fear is a whole other level and we don't need to go there.
