Just got back from McGuinn...

Post by JakeK »

..and he was AWESOME!!! I had a lot of fun, and as we predicted, he was on the 7-string the majority of the time. When he mentioned his Ric, I went wild!!

I had a lot of fun, and if he ever comes back again, I'm definately going!! It was worth every penny!! I can safely say I've seen a 370/12RM in the flesh.

My mom and I went together as my little present for her Mother's Day gift. :) I took no friends of mine, but being with my mom made me feel good inside, because I treated her to a nice Mother's Day.

Glad to hear you had a good time. I bet your Mom appreciated it, too.

When Tony C and I saw him a few weeks back, it was an amazing show too. Did he do that proggy 30-minute medley-type thing with the spinny lights and the Gene Tryp story? Also, not to highlight the negative, but towards the end, he started to play something from Back to Rio (I think it was The Trees Are All Gone) and seemed to forget the words, got slightly angry with himself, put down the Rick 12 in a way that accidentally flipped the bottom of the guitar stand over, went back to another guitar and said "I'm not going to do that song" and went into something else. Anything like that happen?

I just received the following email and have responded:

Dear Patrons,

As you may remember, last year you purchased tickets to the Roger McGuinn concert scheduled at the McDavid Studio in Fort Worth. Unfortunately, due to an unforeseeable injury, Mr. McGuinn’s concert had to be canceled and your tickets were refunded with the promise of a re-scheduled appearance in the near future.

We are proud to inform you that Roger McGuinn will be appearing at the McDavid Studio in two performances, Friday 11/21/08 at 8:00pm and Saturday 11/22/08 at 8:00pm. Tickets have not officially gone on sale, yet, but if you would still like to attend one of these concerts, please contact me and I will gladly assist you.

We look forward to seeing you soon at the Bass Performance Hall and the McDavid Studio.
