Unreleased Searchers' Recordings
Good point Richard. That they sung "Sunday Morning Coming Down" is but another example of the influence American music has had on The Searchers throughout their career.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

hello,
just recalling a quote from liner notes to "Sugar&Spice" (John McNally's if i'm not mistaken) "We have complete say on what we're recording. Tony just throws it in the bin and gets us to do something else". And some questions follow...
1) Tony means Tony Hatch, right?
2) Is it a true story or just a joke?
3) If it is a true story does anybody know where's that 'bin' now?
Curious,
Sheena.

As a follow on to Sheena's question, I know the current version of the Searchers have released a couple of live concert recordings. What I've always wondered is if there are any live concert tapes from the 1964-85 period. There is the Star Club album but this was recorded before The Searchers took off in a big way and I've always wanted to hear a live recording when the band was at it's peak(1964-66) and also a bit later on when they were on the club circut. There are tapes of guest shots on the BBC and Swedish Radio but these are in studio and they don't really convey the excitement of a live concert perfomance. Does anyone know of any live concert tapes of the Pinder-Allen-McNally front line floating around somewhere?
