Sarah, I too enjoyed your format for posting. I thought it quite creative. Please don't run off. As Jdog said, this place is the nicest place on the net, with a world diverse membership. Any perceived slight should first be looked at through a filter that no meanness was intended. With all the different cultures, even just across the US, misinterpretation is likely to happen once in a while. I'm not saying to develop a thick skin, not at all; what I mean is look at yourself as an equal here as good as any other of us, and not under attack for any reason.

Ok.
Thank you

Thank you

Sarah, glad to hear the restring was a success. Nobody was born knowing anything, and everyone here had to learn what they know about their instruments by asking queations and getting help.
I certainly hope to see more posts from you and wish you and your group to continue making music. I hope you don't continue to find offence in some postings, as none of them are designed to be such. Some of the folks here have known each other for decades and give a little jab to each other occasionally, but that is rooted in personal jokes between those individuals and not intended to be at your expense. This is also not a "boys" club that likes to downplay women like so many other forums do, I really get the feeling people here are genuinely good and some(like myself)a little crazy.
I am sure you have at least one friend that has a very dry and/or crass sense of humour that could be construed as offensive, even though you know they have a heart of gold and never meant it that way. Please ask youself if this is perhaps the case the next time(hopefully never)that you come across something offensive.
You are among friends here, fellow Rickenthusiasts sharing their love of these wonderful, special instruments.

Sarah, I think it's great to see you posting here--I'm glad to see another Rickensister online! The people who hang out here are the coolest and best bunch of online friends you'd ever want to meet.... I'm sure that nobody has meant any offense in any way.... I don't think you can find a nicer bunch of people anywhere in the world!

So true. Paul just has this thingy about calling Rickybackys Rickys that was just tweaked in another thread before he posted here.melibreits wrote:I'm sure that nobody has meant any offense in any way.... I don't think you can find a nicer bunch of people anywhere in the world!

I enjoyed Sarah's original post too, however Grahams post is more like how I change strings except I drink far more and then hit Ebay (I really enjoy checking the next morning and seeing what BIN's I scored whilst BUI*
), post on forums and answer Emails that have been bugging me (I can think so much clearer after a few jars
).

Now Sarah, you'll have to understand that Pete is from the North of England and as such needs to be treated as "special"
I usually find he's quite tiddly after a pint!
But he means well.
Re: Secret Diary of a 610 in Fireglo
Wow!! He had 3 or 4 with me at the Ship Inn in '06...... no wonder he was incomprehensible for the rest of the day!!

My name is Marty, and I too call my Rickenbacker guitars "rickys"
I have heard the first part is the hardest, to just admit it.
