Mesa Boogie 400+ issue?

Post by 1965 »

I picked this beast up on Craigslist today, and it sounds killer. I am having one issue with it though: I'm getting a high pitched, frequency modulator sounding squeal from it right after I turn it off standby on powering up. If I turn it back on standby again and then to on it goes away. Any ideas?

Make a call to Petaluma. They are very helpful on the phone. They are open for calls Monday through Thursday only.

Will do. At any rate, this thing sounds fantastic. Anyone else around here have one?

I used to have one. It was most amazing. Sadly, I didn't still have it when I finally obtained a Rick bass. I think they would have sounded fantastic together.

Mine had a strange warbling at low volume. It was tolerable, but slightly annoying.

I agree, I could really use a 4001 to go along with this. But of course I could use a lot of things. The thing I got going with mine really isn't a big deal, considering it goes away not long after it starts, but I'd like to know what it is.

I have a Mesa Venture M-Pulse 600 2x10 combo. Sounds great with my Ricks!
