My vote goes with those favoring Ginger Baker... Do What You LIke on the Blind Faith album says it all.

But there have been many excellant drummers named on this thread.

As Jeff said, IF I only have to pick ONE....Carl Palmer.....

But my top three are..... Carl Palmer, Neil Peart & Ginger Baker, in that order.

Many great drummers mentioned in this thread. Gavin Harrison, from the band Porcupine Tree, deserves a mention here.

It's hard to pick just one, but I'll go with Neil Peart.

I also like the styles of Stuart Copeland and John Bonham... both are different and great.

I'm really happy with the drummer in my band now, too - we've been in the same band for 7 years now, and playing music without him is just not as much fun. You are blessed if you have a great drummer in your band - they will make you a better player, too.

Thanks, Howard. I'll definitely tell Isy of your kind words. He sure enjoyed meeting you and chatting when you were here in Springfield on your America trip.

I agree. Carmine Appice is definitely a drummer who belongs in the top ten list of the best.
